About Us
Kreitzer's Automotive was founded in 1980. Jim was laid off at Mack Trucks where he worked as a diesel engine re-builder. Jim's ambition and knowledge of auto and truck engines, plus employment status, gave way to the young Jim opening his own business. His original business started out on the Carlisle Pike with his Phillips 66 station. It then became Citgo. In 1990, Jim purchased the land and salvage business on Wertz Lane in Enola. He then transferred his inspection license and expanded the garage. Today his business is thriving thanks to his loyal customers!
Jim's daughter Katy worked as an Audi certified technician at dealerships after graduating from UTI Exton and the Audi Academy for 5 years. She has been a Ford and Audi certified mechanic. She also has manufacturing experience working to build motorcycles at the Harley-Davidson plant in York, PA.
June Kreitzer, Jim's mother, worked for Jim and the company from almost the beginning. She loved picking up parts, sweeping the floors, making bills, taking appointments, and handled all of the accounting for the company. She looked forward to seeing our customers and treated them like family, and they reciprocated by telling stories of their children, grand children and sending school pictures, holiday cards, etc. She worked at the garage until April 22nd, 2015 - the day we found out she had cancer. She was 90 years old when she passed away on July 7th, 2015.
Kreitzer's Automotive takes great pride in everything we service. Wether it is an oil change, installing new brakes, a major engine repair or a state inspection, our technicians have the skills to do the job correctly the first time.
We also take pride in caring for the environment. We have been awarded GREEN STAR SHOP status by the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of Pennsylvania, which means that we go the extra mile to make sure everything we use is environmentally friendly and disposed of properly.
We keep up to date with the latest technology by attending training schools and seminars. Our technicians are ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified, have been brand specific certified, and use the latest in computer equipment to check for technical service bulletins and manufacturer updates for your vehicle. We are members of AASP (Alliance of Automotive Service Providers) and iATN (International Automotive Technicians Network)
